Romans 12:9-21
This week we read from one of Paul’s most famous letters, as he writes to the church in Rome. After reminding the church that we are many members but one body in Christ, he writes of what faith in our daily lives looks like. Love one another, take care of saints and strangers, be humble, care for the lowly, overcome evil with good. All good stuff! These are core parts of our Christian faith, but living them out in daily life has been a struggle since Paul wrote these words to the church in Rome. How do we let love order our ordinary days? Without leaving our current lives behind and becoming monks, can we learn from the monastic orders of the Benedictines and new monastics of the freedom within a rule or order of life? Join us in worship this Sunday as Rev. Mollie preaches on how a rule or order as guideposts give us the freedom to live out God’s love together.
