Colossians 3:12-17
This Sunday is World Communion Sunday and it couldn’t come at a better time. World Communion Sunday offers reminders of two important truths in Christianity. The first is that the Body of Christ is rich in its diversity and crosses international and denominational boundaries. It is a symbolic reminder that our unity in Christ surpasses any other division or difference between us. The second is that Christ’s concern for humanity was global rather than local. We recall the words in John’s gospel, “For God so loved the world.” Not that God loved this group or that group. God loved and loves the world. Join us this Sunday for a service grounded in the call to live as one world and one people seeking and serving the same one God.
