Colossians 2:5-10
It’s Wednesday and we still don’t know the outcome of the 2020 presidential election. And we may not know for a few days more. But as the old preaching adage says, “it may be Friday, but Sunday’s coming.” It’s a reminder that no matter how challenging life may feel, Sundays are a day for celebrating and rejoicing. This Sunday we’ll celebrate our connection in Christ, a connection that supersedes all that would seek to divide us. The earliest Christians had a deep connection to one another through Christ, even to other Christians that they had never met. How strange and wonderful that in 2020 we have people who are a part of our faith community that we have never met in person? Join us this Sunday as we dedicate our 2021 pledges, celebrate the ministries of Lakewood UCC, and hear a message about the importance of staying connected even when we are apart.
