We tend to think of Jesus as a gentle, lamb-holding, sage figure who wanders from town to town dispensing easily digestible wisdom. And sometimes this is who he is. But today’s reading offers another side of Jesus. He’s angry with Peter because Peter’s focus is on the short term, not the longer term. He needs his disciples to know that following him will bring difficulty and challenge. But also that it is worth it. Join us this Sunday as Pastor Curt preaches on the topsy-turvy kingdom of God and how sometimes losing is just what we need in order to find what we never knew we were missing.
