Can a person have privilege and also struggle to overcome long odds? Can a person wield power in one part of their life, and yet, face oppression in another? The fancy term for it is. “intersectionality.” It means that none of us fit neatly into a single category or box. In today’s reading from Acts, we meet an Ethiopian Eunuch riding in a chariot. He’s an outsider and also a person of wealth. He’s denied full participation in temple worship, but has power and influence at the same time. And he wants to be baptized. Join us this Sunday as Pastor Curt preaches on how far we are willing to go to be welcomed and to welcome others into the church.
