Brewatitudes at the movies! Join Lakewood UCC congregants at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema at Sloan’s Lake for a special viewing of the movie, American Heretics: The Politics of the Gospel. This documentary follows UCC Reverend Robin Meyers and Unitarian Universalist Reverend Marlin Lavanhar as they rise against the tides of Christian fundamentalist entrenchment in conservative Oklahoma. The ministers join forces with other faith leaders as they engage in the challenge of confronting the divisive theology espoused in the majority churches in Bible Belt territory. Because this is a special showing, there will be a live Q&A with story consultant James Kasper. We are going to buy our tickets in bulk and seating is very limited.
